Community
Throughout its history, Arun Community Church has actively engaged with the local area providing a variety of services and events. Since 1992, the church has run the PlayCentre pre-school nursery at our premises in Rustington.
Also in 1992, the church started a monthly youth event known as Cutting Edge. The event grew to over 1,000 people, with annual concerts on Littlehampton Beach Green which attracted thousands. In 1996, the Cutting Edge band became known as Delirious?.
Arun Community Church is well known locally for its range of creative activities for children and young people. Among other groups these include our week-long summer Funhouse playschemes, Launch Pad breakfast club which is currently funded by BBC Children In Need, and TNT - a popular youth club for 11-14 year olds.
Additionally, the church owns and runs the Wickbourne Centre in Wick, Littlehampton. The centre is run in partnership with West Sussex County Council and a variety of children’s and family services are based within the building including social workers, family support teams, and health visitors. The church organises various community support groups, as well as using the venue for mid-week prayer meetings and teaching sessions. The centre also houses our PlayCentre Nursery, and Refresh; our fairtrade coffee shop with free internet facilities.
